something to dance about
Something to Dance About
The Paddock is currently developing another Something to Dance About dance festival, which will once again take place in outside spaces all over Lewes. This time we hope to expand the number of dances, building on the fantastic response we had from audiences and participants in 2006, and would like to involve a wider range of dancers, both amateurs and professionals, from the outlying Lewes district as well as from Lewes itself. We also hope to involve four secondary schools this time as well as a primary school dance. We want to particularly emphasize access in future festivals, encouraging all dance creators to dedicate a percentage of budget towards best practice for involving people with a wide range of disabilities, whether it be as participants and audience members. Finally, we also hope to commission a new dance for camera, developed from the festival as a whole. We are always looking for help with all the different phases of turning a project from an idea into reality. If you are interested in being involved in the creation of the next Something to Dance About, please get in touch.
