Playing with Art is a Paddock project currently being developed for the autumn of 2008.

It will involve a series of collaborations between a
writer and an artist, both professional and both local
to the Lewes district.

The aim of each collaboration will be to create some
kind of performance piece involving text and visual
art, based on a theme devised by the two artists.
The pieces will then be performed as part of a week
of new works taking place in one space, with a
different work on each evening. The parameters of this collaboration are inherent in the word ‘collaboration’: the work must be the outcome of two-way dialogue
on a shared theme, not based on one artist responding to co-existing work of the other. There are no limits to the theme the pairing might explore, but the work should be new and rise out of their present and continuing work together.

Similarly, the visual art created will be a part of the eventual performance and present in the performance space. The performance will be able to be installed and removed from the space in the time-scale of 24 hours,
to allow for a different performance on each evening.
